Why Counselling?

Counselling is used when you are not mentally ill, but feel in a mess or confused. It can help you to gain a new insight into yourself, sort out the confusion of your feelings and make sense of what is causing your distress. Counselling is a confidential service. It is a process of respecting yourself as a person and helping you to be able to respect yourself.

About Me

I have had over ten years of experience in Counselling, practising and teaching. I have a Masters degree in counselling practice, and am an NLP practitioner. I also hold a qualification in infertility, diploma in family therapy and I am a qualified lecturer.

I currently work as a private counsellor and a counsellor in a GP practice. I am a member of the BACP British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their governing guidelines.

I have also worked with teenagers in a higher education college and work as a counselling lecturer to diploma level.

Services I Offer

I offer individual counselling and group work and produce and deliver tailor made counselling / listening courses for your organisation or firm. I also offer self-development courses to suit your needs and the needs of your organisation.

I have extensively researched the transition period into motherhood / parenthood and have written a specialised parenting programme to prevent postnatal depression and encourage parent / child bonding. This is an eight week programme and includes parents and their babies. The emphasis is to explore emotions rather than try to change behaviour as so many parenting programmes aim to do.
